About Me
Hi, I’m Jason Woodley.
I created Better Money Decisions because I wish someone with real-world experience had helped guide me earlier in life.
Like most people, I’ve made good money decisions and bad ones. Some worked out well. Others definitely didn’t.
I wish I had contributed more to my 401(k) and started a Roth IRA when I was younger. I wish I hadn’t bought so many new cars. I wish I had invested more consistently in strong, stable businesses instead of chasing the next big stock.
Those experiences taught me something important: most financial decisions are not complicated when you slow down, understand the numbers, and apply a little common sense.
Unfortunately, a lot of money advice today is:
overly complex
designed to sell you something
disconnected from how real people actually live
From Instagram feeds to YouTube videos, there’s no shortage of people giving financial advice. Some of it is helpful, but much of it comes from people with their own agendas, incentives, or products to sell.
Better Money Decisions was built on a simple idea:
If you combine basic financial understanding with real-life experience, you can usually make better decisions than many of the so-called experts.
This site is here to help people think more clearly about money decisions across every stage of life — mortgages, investing, cars, retirement, family decisions, and everything in between.
I’ll share both the successes and the mistakes along the way, because sometimes the lessons that save you the most money come from the decisions you wish you could do over.
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is simply making better money decisions over time.
Hope this will be helpful to you and please join us!
